Al Franken On The Daily Show

The Prince of Fair and Balanced was on the
The Daily Show
last night.

Al took the liberty of pointing out the hypocrisy of the Shrub wearing a flight suit and performing in his little aircraft carrier escapade when, in reality, he not only let his daddy pull strings for him to get into the National Guard so he wouldn't have to go to Vietnam, but then, he didn't even show up for duty, and went AWOL for a year!

I might have to break this up into highlights. But here's the whole thing for now.

Be sure to buy Al's Book too. I'm just starting it, and I already love it. Everybody I've talked to couldn't put the thing down till they were done.

Enjoy!

I find it nothing short of appropriate that a video clip of Al Franken has been encoded using the most worthless software possible (QuickTime).

Umm. QuickTime is the most worthless software? The clips played fine for me. Apparantly root66 can't explain why it's "appropriate" for QuickTime to play an Al Franken clip. Then again, people of this mental caliber who can't explain a position are probably on the Haliburton payroll, rolling in the two billion crony dollars that we're all paying to Dick Cheney's buddies.

Actually .AVI files are the most useless video format.

I find it nothing short of appropriate that Olsen has been named using the most worthless name possible (Chuck).

Just a joke, Chuck.

Lisa,
I stumbled onto your site doing a search for Cheney's money trail from Halliburton...I have been going through the site for almost an hour, and I have just scratched the surface of my interest.

I am interested in interviewing you for a book I am writing about extremism in the media. In short- the fact that partisan politics have disenfranchised the average citizen, and that we are going to start having to find alternative sources for facts. You seem to be a great example of the use of new media, to parse and disseminate information.

I am also an "ex-patriot"" of the music industry, and looking for the revolution in music media distribution to bring the major labels to their knees (where they belong... and should actually feel quite comfortable).

In any case- I am very impressed, and would like the opportunity to open further communications with you.

Sincerely,
Patric Miller

Al Franken's book is truly impossible to put down. I have never laughed out loud at a book like this. As soon as I finished it, I read it again. As a recovering former-Republican, I say now, that Al is good enough, he's smart enough, and doggone it, I like him.

Thanks for a great book, Al.

They have lawyers in Nova Scotia? Are most of your clients Halibut? ;o)

Posted by: Eric on February 17, 2004 06:14 AM

I thought Dick Cheney was Halibut's lawyer.

Hello, What a interesting and awesome blog. I adore what you've done with your setup and graphics. I recently built a new home page of my own, so I'm doubly impressed. Thanks you so much.
