This just in from one of my wonderful readers:
Want to watch clips from past year in one file? Then download this torrent:
http://ts.searching.com/torrent/489042/The_Best_of_The_Daily_Show_Vol_2xvidThis project is the culmination of MANY hours of labor. It is a reprise of a
Daily show best of I made last year. I decided to do it again and this time
make a LOW quality xvid for those who don't want to download the DVD format. These are mostly clips of Jon, but there are pieces from each correspondent
as well. They are all just what I thought was funniest. The entire file is
about 6 hours long (you try to cut out bits from a year's worth of TDS -
it's HARD!)Enjoy, and please SEED!
thanks,

This is from the December 18, 2005 program of Meet the Press.
Here is a link to MTP Condi Rice video and mp3s Of Her Meet The Press Interview
it's still uploading as of 3:30pm on sunday the 18th. If it's close to then, it's still uploading...
I'm just watching this mornings Meet the Press with Condi Rice. Tim Russert is drilling her accordingly on why G.W. Bush isn't violating the same laws that Nixon violated when he authorized secret wire tapping.
She pauses, struggles with her answer for a moment (although she does get one out) and then she ends it with "I am not a lawyer."
She says it again later. ("Again, Tim, I am not a lawyer.")
Well hey. If you're not a lawyer, I guess there's no need for you to understand it completely.
Even if you are Secretary of State for the United States of America. You have people that handle that for you.
"I'm not going to talk about my role as National Security Advisor ...which of course is not a constitutionally confirmed role."
What does that even mean?
The bottom line is that Bush authorized some wire tapping (without getting a proper warrant) and she knew about it.
I'm way behind on this one guys. I just got here.
But I'll have her interview for ya in a few :-)
Oh wait. this is good:
Tim Russert: "Where in the Constitution does it say the President can eavesdrop, wiretap American citizens, without a court order?"
Condi Rice: "Tim. The President has authorities under FISA, which we are using and using actively. He also has constitutional authorities that derive from his role as Commander in Chief and his need to protect the country. He has acted within his Constitutional authority and within his statutory authority."

Songs From The Commons #8
Lots of great music from teru's website -- including a mix from teru himself of a mashup of two other remixes.
This One’s For Tookie WilliamsNo Business As Usual This Show - A Man Imprisoned by the State of California Has Been Put To Death By that same state, and I just want to take a moment to think about it.
It happened around 12:30 am this morning- Dec 13, 2006. I don’t like to be reminded that we’re living in a police state, but things like state-sanctioned executions make it all too crystal clear.
Will we find out months or years from now that Tookie was innocent? We’re learning that innocent people are convicted all the time. It could happen to you or me, but research has proven definitively that it’s much more likely to happen to you if your an african american male.
And what if he was guilty after all? Is he arguably rehabilitated? Or is rehabilitation just a lie?
However you slice it, it leaves me sad. And thinking.
Whether you’re for or against the death penalty, I think you will agree that it’s important that we all think long and hard about what happened today.
Almost a month ago, I asked you guys to email me your movies to demo@vemobile.com and let me know the ID number the Type Pad/Video Egg service emailed back to you, so I could use it within my Type Pad blog and do some kind of collaborative video thing.
Not one person emailed me about this, and I find that kind of hard to believe. Now I would appreciate it if those of you who almost did it didn't, for one reason or another. Do you just now have video cell phones? (I sure don't, so I can understand that :-)
I'm wondering what will happen if I email a non-cell phone video to the same address, so I'm going to try that, and just make it a small enough file so it won't upset any file size limitations.
I'm also wondering what people think about these flash-only solutions for video hosting that seem to be popping up everywhere. Does it bother anybody but me that the video can't be reused once it's compressed and locked up in this way?
I'll let you know how it goes. But please, if you have a second, give me some feedback on one or both of these issues at lisa@lisarein.com
thanks!
